This is an original instrumental song written by Billy Sherwood of Yes and myself in 2011. I had just completed production of "Dimensionaut" by Sound of Contact and was waiting for it to be released (which took several years) and during that time I started the "Sonic Elements" project, a fun series of tribute albums that would build off of sample libraries I produced for my sound development company Sonic Reality. This song was built off of Neil Peart Drums by Sonic Reality and Neil's drum's from the song "YYZ" re-imagined as a Prog joy ride! There are stylistic nods to Yes, Rush, Genesis and other classic Prog bands here. Part of the spirit of the "Sonic Elements" project is for us to have a chance to be less restrictive about the production, composition and arrangement of the songs. The idea is to be creative and have fun experimenting to see how it all comes together. It's a fantasy to play with Neil Peart on drums, even for Billy and myself who have both played with a lot of great well known musicians. It's rare that Rush's legendary drummer does any sessions and now that he's retired it's rare to hear his drumming at all on anything new. But, thanks to the fact that his drum performances and awesome kit was recorded for Neil Peart Drums, we at least have this and more to look forward to from the Sonic Elements tribute series. - Dave
